It’s that time of year again, where we take a moment to exhale and look back on what 2021 has brought us. We’d like to take this time to put it all in one place – showing a true testament to what this community is capable of together! Also, we will start looking forward to the new year, and what’s in store for all of us in 2022!
A Community On The Rebound
While 2021 was not without challenges due to the ongoing pandemic, we saw a shift this year in people’s perspectives. 2020 made us all a bit more resilient, whether we wanted to be or not! As we returned to the gym in late 2020 and into 2021, we witnessed that shift in people’s mindset and willingness to put the work in. Whether or not you personally suffered negative health consequences in 2020 (from being at home more, or being unable to get to the gym, whatever), 2021 was a year for healing and rebounding into the healthy, resilient athletes and community we are.
This year also brought a rebound in our community as a whole. We have seen many familiar faces make their way back into the gym after a long break, and we couldn’t be happier to see you all again! Additionally, we began adding new members into the fold again – welcome, friends!
A Community That Cares
Of course, we can’t have a recap post without outlining the tremendous accomplishments this community made supporting charitable causes!
In the first half of the year, the Aevitas family supported the local Food Pantry farm, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Wounded Warrior Project through various community events. If you’d like a full recap of how we helped these worthy causes check out our recap on the blog HERE.
During the Fall season, we had a bit of fun while supporting STEM with the Aevitas Triathlon at Tawasentha. We also hosted our largest-ever charitable giving campaign in October to benefit Barbells For Boobs! Check out the detailed recaps for both HERE, and HERE, respectively.
Finally, we brought back some Aevitas favorites over the Winter holiday months, with the annual Skinner Memorial WOD for Mental Health Awareness, along with the giving trees at both Aevitas locations. Check out the Skinner background HERE – and note that the Guilderland giving tree is up through the month of January!
Getting Stronger, Together in 2022
2021 was a building year for the Aevitas family, and we want to keep this momentum going! But to do that, we need everyone’s help. Here’s what we ask of you going into the new year:
- Keep coming and working hard in the gym! We love seeing your faces, and helping you become the fittest version of yourself yet! In return, we promise to bring you the best possible workouts that will get you fit and keep you having a great time
- Update your fitness and health goals! You’ll see more on this from us soon, but get thinking about what you’d like to accomplish in 2022 – both in and out of the gym – that getting super fit will help you achieve! We promise to help you get there!
- Let us know how you want to support the greater community! Do you have ideas for an awesome charity to support this year? Or an epic community event proposal? We are ALWAYS game for trying out new ways to engage this community and make it stronger than ever – so let us know!
