Aevitas is full of athletes and coaches who are constantly striving to improve in their fitness, knowledge, and coaching skills! We’d like to take a moment to recognize a handful of Aevitans who sharpened their axes this month!
CrossFit Level 1
On Mother’s Day weekend (May 11th and 12th) three Aevitas athletes took on the CrossFit Level 1 seminar. In the seminar, athletes learned from the CrossFit Seminar staff about the foundational movements of CrossFit, and the overall CrossFit training methodology. They also gleaned insights into effective CrossFit programming, and nutrition and lifestyle considerations that can benefit overall health and fitness.
The athletes who attended the CrossFit Level 1 Seminar are: CJ Leisenfelder, Jada Basdeo, and Lory Smitka. See if you can spot them in the group photo!
Make sure to give these athletes a congratulatory fist-bump next time you see them! And feel free to pick their brains about all they learned!
USA Weightlifting Level 1
Just a week later, four Aevitas coaches attended the USAW Level 1 course, hosted at our very own Round Lake facility! Coaches Dave, Karen, Kevin, and Victoria spent the weekend learning from Cait Finn of USA Weightlifting about movement assessments, teaching progressions, coaching points, and programming as it pertains to mastering the Olympic Lifts (Snatch, Clean, and Jerk).
Our coaches are very excited to be able to bring this knowledge back to you in the gym – so be ready for more skills & drills that are aimed to help you become better weightlifters (and athletes in general)!
We are so proud of our athletes and coaches who choose to continue learning and growing throughout their CrossFit journey! If you are looking to sharpen your skills and knowledge and would like help finding opportunities to do so, reach out to a coach!
