Last weekend, Aevitas Weightlifting hosted a Mock Weightlifting Meet at our Guilderland location. The turnout was great, and the vibe was electric! Weightlifters of all abilities and experience levels showed up to learn, throw down, and support one another! Check out the official recap, below!
Lifters
Of the 14 lifters present, the overwhelming majority represented Capital Weightlifting and Aevitas Weightlifting, so this turned out to be a great friendly “competition” between the two clubs!
Four female lifters were represented (two from Aevitas and two from Capital!), along with ten male lifters.
Due to the number of participants, and the fact that this was a Mock Meet and not a USAW-sanctioned event, organizers chose to have just one session for the Snatch and one for the Clean and Jerk. So male and female lifters took turns on the platform as the weight progressed within each session.
The event was marshaled and run by several volunteers from the Aevitas Weightlifting team, as well as a special appearance from ADK Weightlifting area rep, James McDermott – thank you, James!
Results
This event was scored using the Sinclair points system, which takes into account actual athlete weight, and their total weight lifted between their best Snatch and best Clean and Jerk. Athletes who wished to compete officially in this meet were asked to weigh in before the session began, just like would be done in a sanctioned meet.
The final results were recorded and are tabulated below. Check out how your favorite lifter(s) fared!
Our winners based on Sinclair score were Danielle Quenville and Chad Southwick. Both athletes took home a gift certificate toward services from our friends at Resolute PT! Congrats, winners!
