AEVITAS OBSTACLE COURSE RACING
Combines traditional running with obstacles
WHAT IS THE OBSTACLE COURSE RACING PROGRAM?
Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) is a group exercise program that combines traditional running with obstacles that require strength and skill development. We prepare you for you a myriad OCR competitions, endurance races, and fitness goals, depending on what type of race you have in mind. Some of the most popular OCR and endurance events our members compete in include Spartan Race™, Tough Mudder™, and GORUCK™ events.
– Spartan Race™ has races from 5k to 50k, as well as 4 to 48+ hour endurance events.
– Tough Mudder™ has races from 5k to 24 hours
– GORUCK™ has endurance events led by former Special Forces Cadre from 4 to 48 hours
WHAT IS IT LIKE?
The OCR Program workouts are focused on best preparing our athletes for success at their next OCR. Workouts tend to use functional, bodyweight
movements (burpees, lunges, squats, etc.) in combination with an emphasis on cardiovascular development (it’s Obstacle Course RACING after all!), and lots of grip strength development for upper body obstacles. We flip tires, do farmer carries, swing around on the rig, climb over walls, and run a lot! Our athletes’ goals vary from participating in their first OCR to making the transition from participating to competing. Our coaches love the sport and will work to understand your personal goals and get you there.
We use a Multiple Level Programming System that allows our coaches to meet the individual needs of our members exactly where they are at any given time. Whether you just signed up for your first-ever race or you’re looking to conquer your next 50k Ultramarathon OCR, our program tracks are tailored to support your goals.
Scaled: Endurance training and upper body strength development, focusing on OCR-specific workouts and skill-building, with a reduction in volume or weight for some movements allow safe growth into the sport.
