Just a few weeks ago, we completed our “Six Weeks Til Spring” Challenge at Aevitas! Over 40 people participated in the challenge between the two gyms. We saw incredible growth in the group, and are so excited to congratulate our winners!
Three Categories; Five Top Prizes
We wanted to cover all the bases with this challenge – from nutrition to workout consistency to tackling new habits and sticking with them! So, we decided to let challengers choose which path they wanted to take for the six weeks. While some people chose just one option, others doubled (or tripled) up on the challenge components. By allowing different challenge paths, we hoped that everyone participating would get what they needed out of the six weeks.
As part of the challenge, everyone received two InBody body composition scans, to track their lean muscle mass gains and fat losses during the challenge.
Category 1: Nutrition Bingo
Nutrition Bingo participants completed weekly Nutrition Bingo challenges with corresponding quizzes at the end of the week. Items on the cards ranged from meeting hydration targets, to reducing intake of fried foods, to finding new vegetables to try out! Nutrition Bingo participants were scored at the end of the challenge based on how consistently they were able to complete the daily and weekly nutrition challenges.
Category 2: The Buddy System
This category was aimed at those who wanted to find more consistency in their gym attendance. One of the very best ways to stay on track is to have an accountability buddy! So we set up teams to keep each other on track throughout the six weeks. Groups were challenged each week to set goals, share them with their buddies, and hold their buddies accountable as well!
Category 3: Atomic Habits Book Club
This part of the challenge was a new venture for us, and we really liked the way that it turned out! As a group, we read through the book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. Each week there was a reading assignment, along with an evening Zoom Book Club meeting where the group discussed the section of the book, asked each other questions and gave advice, and just generally had a great time connecting with one another.
We had not one, but FIVE categories of this challenge for participants to try to win! Below are the prizes and winners of each:
Steady Eddy – Anne!
This prize was directly tied to gym attendance during the course of the six week challenge. Regular attendance ensures results as we move toward our fitness goals. Anne absolutely rocked her class attendance during this time, and it shows in her fitness improvements! Congrats, Anne!
Nutrition Ninja – Wendi!
The “Nutrition Ninja” award was tied to participation and results in the Nutrition Bingo challenge. Wendi not only completed (or at least attempted!) every single challenge on every single card, but she also used the Nutrition challenge to help her break an unhealthy habit that popped up during 2020. Way to go, Wendi!
Lean & Mean – Veronica!
The “Lean & Mean” award was based on percent body fat change from the initial InBody Scan to the second scan at the 6-week mark. Veronica took home this prize, showing impressive yet sustainable fat loss during this time! Keep it up, V!
Pumped & Proud – Meredith!
Again, this prize was directly related to the before and after InBody scans. This one, however, was based on increase in lean body mass. We’re excited to announce that Meredith takes home this prize, showing that hard work in ViTaFIT really pays off! We’re pumped for you, Meredith!
Lifestyle – Maria!
This prize was based on the exit survey for the challenge. Specifically, we asked challengers to identify what temporary and permanent changes they were able to make as a result of this challenge. We also asked them what the challenge taught them about themselves, their lives, and their potential. Maria made us proud with her sincere answers, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow in the future. Awesome work, Maria!
We wanted to extend a huge “Thank You!” to everyone who completed this Six Week Challenge! We had a great time completing it alongside you, and loved watching people make changes in their health, where they needed to focus. We received a lot of feedback from challengers on what went well and how things can improve, and we’re looking forward to implementing all of that feedback in coming challenges. Thanks, everyone!
