Karen is a co-owner and Head Coach of CrossFit Aevitas. Karen’s focus is on overall well-being, and she believes that adopting a healthy lifestyle means more than just showing up at the gym!
Karen is an avid downhill skier and competed at the collegiate level in soccer and lacrosse. After completing her first marathon in 2011, Karen felt as though her days of competition and challenges were nearing an end – that is, until she found CrossFit! With a new workout every day and many benchmarks to test progress, Karen fell in love with the challenge and sense of self-competition CrossFit brings with it. Karen became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in August and worked with Chad over the summer to develop and coach the Tawasentha CrossFit Boot Camp.
Karen loves spending time in the kitchen, and has learned that loving food and being healthy don’t have to conflict. Karen believes that true health works from the inside out; not the other way around. She believes in managing diet and lifestyle factors to become your best self. If you’re having trouble finding healthy breakfast options, or would like help de-mystifying grocery store labels, Karen can help you find foods to boost your health while satisfying your taste buds!
Karen is a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer, and has completed the Mobility Level 1 Certificate as well as the Olympic Lifting (Attitude Nation) and CrossFit Gymnastics Certificate seminars.
