Help Locals In Need Stay Cozy With December’s #givewarmth Campaign

This holiday season, the CrossFit Aevitas community is striving to make everyone a little bit more comfortable. During the month of December, we invite everyone in (and outside of!) our community to give the gift of comfort to the area’s less fortunate, with our #givewarmth campaign!

The charitable cause we’ve chosen to support this month is the Capital City Rescue Mission. This local, non-for-profit organization strives to provide the homeless and needy of the Capital Region with resources to not only survive, but to return to society as thriving, productive citizens. The Mission accomplishes this goal by “providing for the whole person – body, mind, and spirit”

As a community, CrossFit Aevitas will be helping with the “body” portion of the Rescue Mission’s goal by providing the local homeless and needy with seasonal clothing – hats, gloves, scarves, and boots! Here’s how YOU can get involved:

Throughout the month of December, check in to CrossFit Aevitas on Facebook, and use the hashtag #givewarmth. For every check-in, we will donate money towards purchasing new wintertime accessories for those in need at the end of the month.

Also, as with our Movember campaign last month, any reviews that pop up on any of our social media entities will be added to the total tally of check-in contributions. So if you’re not on Facebook, head over to Yelp, Google+, Twitter, or any other online platform and write us a quick review!

Purchase a hat, a pair of gloves or mittens, a warm scarf, or some winter boots and bring them into the gym! The Mission takes all sizes for children and adults, so you can choose. Seasonal items are provided to those in need right away, at no cost to the recipients.

Want to contribute but don’t know what exactly to buy? We will also be taking monetary contributions through the end of the month. At the end of the December, any cash donations will be added to the Facebook check-in total, and the money will be used to purchase additional items for donation to the Rescue Mission

Stay warm this winter, and help those less fortunate do the same with our December #givewarmth campaign!
